Board game pre-order comes with a code for the PC Beta
A closed beta for Blood Bowl 3, the third instalment of Cyanide’s Blood Bowl series, will be available for players early next year.
In a news post on Warhammer Community website, the developer confirmed that a closed beta for the upcoming game will be available to players who pre-order Blood Bowl: Second Season Edition, the latest iteration of the tabletop version of the game.
The community post also noted that there will be rules parity between the new tabletop version and the digital version as well, and that the two teams in the starter box – the Imperial Nobility and the Black Orcs – will be available in the digital game at launch.
Blood Bowl 3 will also feature a team editor that allows players to edit the look of their team, much like they’d be able to paint and convert their own miniatures in the tabletop version of the series.
Blood Bowl 3 is the latest digital adaptation of Games Workshop’s classic fantasy sports board game, which was first released in 1986. The first PC version of the game was released in 1995 for MS-DOS under a different developer. Cyanide took over the series in 2009 with Blood Bowl, and released the sequel Blood Bowl 2 in 2015.
Blood Bowl 3 is set to be released sometime in 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
