WHAT IS CODING FOR KIDS?
Coding for kids has gained popularity rapidly in recent years as technology becomes increasingly part of everyday life.
coding is a way to tell the computer how to perform any task.you may also hear coding referred to as computer programming. In other words, coding is a set of instructions given to a computer to do a certain job.
These instructions are communicated using computer language such as java, python, C, HTML.
HOW DO I TEACH MY CHILD TO CODE?
The most common way for kids to learn to code is through drag-and-drop coding, in which they attach blocks to create programs. By focusing on the logic behind the code, visual programming teaches the basic principles without the use of typing or syntax.
IS CODING GOOD FOR KIDS?
Coding allows children of all ages to become technological creators by allowing them to use their imagination.
The best coding tools and programs teach kids of all ages and skill levels, how to code in a fun and engaging manner.
Coding enables children to imagine abstract ideas, allows them to apply math to real-life scenarios, and makes math enjoyable and imaginative. Many of today’s STEM programs have coding.
AT WHAT AGE CAN CHILD LEARN CODING?
I would say Kids as young as 7 years of age can start coding and learning programming basics. Even kids who can’t read can learn to code with block-based coding.
WHY CODING IS IMPORTANT FOR KIDS
- Coders are in demand
We are living in one of the most revolutionary periods of history, and learning to code will increase your child’s chances of pursuing a lucrative STEM career. Coders are in high demand and have become a necessary skill. Artificial intelligence (AI) and computing employment are expanding at a rapid rate, more than twice the national average.
- Coding is fun
Coding can be a creative and enjoyable practice. If it works, each line of code causes something to happen in the console. It’s a lot of fun to see the idea taking shape step by step. If you know how to code, you can use your imagination to create applications, mobile games, websites, and more.ALso, the feeling of finding a bug is difficult to explain.
- Coding improves collaboration
Coding entails confronting and resolving issues. Seeking solutions through study and teamwork is at the heart of learning to code. Collaboration is an essential part of learning to code and a skill that will benefit kids and teens in school, at work, and in life in general.
- Coding improves persistence
Learning to code is difficult, just like learning something new. When you’re coding, you’ll run into complex problems and make mistakes, and dealing with them can be frustrating. When confronted with such obstacles, coding will teach kids and teens the valuable skill of perseverance.
- Competitive benefit during colleges, internships, and jobs
Start learning to code if you want to be more appealing to admissions officers and prospective employers. This is a valuable ability that many of your peers lack, and it will give you the competitive edge you need when applying to universities, internships, and jobs.
- Coding improves problem solving
If we talk about more complex coding problems, coding problems must be broken down into smaller steps in order to be solved. Breaking down a coding problem necessitates both analytical and communication abilities.
- Better sense of understanding
Most of the things we use in our daily life will have coding in it. We’re addicted to video games, tablets, computers, and social media networks, but we don’t really understand them. Understanding and interacting with the tools we use, the majority of which we take for granted, would benefit from having a basic understanding of programming.
- Coding improves creativity
The first element of coding innovation is determining how to use code to solve problems under specific constraints.
The optimization of code is a second aspect of innovation. When learning to code, the primary focus should (and should be) on getting the code to function. However, as one gains experience, they begin to discover tricks and strategies for making their code run faster and use less memory.
A third aspect of creativity is being able to write code that is easy for other developers to understand and maintain.
- Coding improves communication
There is nothing that can stop you from succeeding in various industries and in life if you know how to express complicated concepts in simple terms. When children and teenagers learn to code, they gain a valuable skill: the ability to communicate with computers.
WHICH CODING LANGUAGES ARE BEST?
Kids can learn a variety of programming languages. Your child should choose one based on their age and level of experience. Starting with visual programming languages is a brilliant idea!
We suggest that kids start learning to code with a block coding language like Scratch. Once they’ve mastered the fundamentals, they will move on to text-based coding.
