It was intended to be a PS5 launch title

Destruction AllStars will no longer be a launch title for the PlayStation 5 but will instead be released next year as a free PlayStation Plus title, Sony has announced.

The news was shared in a PlayStation Blog post, where the company announced that the game would not be released on November 12 and instead will be coming sometime in February 2021.

It was also revealed that, when released, the game will be available on PlayStation Plus on release for two months, meaning it will be free to download for all subscribers of the service. Anyone who has already purchased the game is eligible for a full refund.

Sony has yet to share a reason of the Destruction AllStars‘s delay. However, the company has promised to released a brand-new trailer for the game, alongside more details on what players can expect from the title.

Destruction AllStars was intended to be one of the few titles that would be exclusive to the PS5 system, alongside the highly anticipated Demon’s Souls remake. Other PlayStation exclusives coming on launch day include Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, however, both will also be available to purchase and play on the PS4.

PlayStation Plus members are also set to receive The PlayStation Plus Collection on the PS%’s launch day. Subscribers will be eligible to play a bundle of PS4 titles, which are described as “generation defining PS4 games”, and will include games such as The Last of Us: Remastered, God Of War and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
