The developer is looking for someone with a “desire to write stories set in feudal Japan”

Sucker Punch might be working on a sequel to Ghost Of Tsushima, according to a recent job listing from the developer.

The developer is looking for a narrative writer who has a “how to tell impactful, character-driven stories within a AAA open-world game”, according to the listing. But more importantly, it specifically lists a requirement for someone with a “desire to write stories set in feudal Japan”, and mentions “knowledge of feudal Japanese history” as a plus.

Not much else is known about the project the narrative writer role would be working on, although it could range from upcoming DLCs for Ghost Of Tsushima, more content for the game’s recently launched multiplayer mode or potentially a full-blown sequel.

Additionally, the company is also looking for an associate outsource artist, with “an interest or familiarity with traditional Japanese culture and aesthetic”, as discovered by VG247.

Sucker Punch released Ghost Of Tsushima earlier this year and it quickly becoming the fastest-selling debut for an original IP on the PS4.

The multiplayer portion of Ghost Of Tsushima, called Legends, launched last week on October 16 and added a slew of new content. They included online story missions, survival modes, New Game+ and more. The developer is also working on introducing a full raid coming in the near future.

At the time of release, NME’s Jordon Oloman called Ghost Of Tsushima “an appealing sandbox that lets you disconnect from the world around you and sink into samurai serenity” in a glowing four-star review.
