Two massive expansions will bring players to Ireland and France

With its launch imminent, Ubisoft has unveiled its plans for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla post-launch.

The plans consist of both paid and free content, across multiple seasons. Post-launch content will start rolling out from December, with the launch of the first season. Every following three months a new season will start, bringing new content, settlements, game modes, and more.

Paid content in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will come in the form of two major expansions and an additional quest. The first to launch will be The Legend Of Beowulf mission, which will be available on launch day and as part of the game’s season pass. The quest will task players with uncovering the truth behind the legend of Beowulf.

In Spring 2021, the first major expansion will launch. Wrath Of The Druids will whisk players to Ireland, where they will uncover a new way of life in the city of Dublin. Once there, playes will investigate a mystery surrounding a local Druid cult, taking players through a story of myths and folklore.

Summer 2021 will see the launch of The Siege Of Paris, based around one of the key battles in Viking history. Players will infiltrate the city of Paris in an explosive questline that pushes them through the voracious event.

Outside of paid expansinos, various free content drops will be released in the months after launch. The first season begins in December and will add a new settlement area, the Yule Festival event, a new mode called The River Raids and a new ranking system for player’s Jomsviking lieutenant.

New player skills and abilities, weapons and gear, and cosmetic items for the settlement, such as the long ship, horse and the raven, will also be added post-launch. Fan favourite Discovery Mode will also make a return, allowing players to explore and learn more about the Viking world.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla also recently received a gameplay trailer that dived into the skill tree, various combat abilities and settlement system.
